Today is our anniversary, yea for us!!! Cache and I have been married for 6 short years. Time goes by so fast! It seems like we just got married and now we are moving on to year seven. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that boy! I have never met a kinder, soft-hearted man in all my life. I couldn't imagine life with out him. A lot has happened in the last six years and I am a better person having spent every day with him by my side. Cheers to us and hopefully to another 60 years!!!

He's here! Finally Boss is here and doing well. I went down last weekend to see the new little guy and he is adorable! He has such a good temperament and is so pleasant and happy. I am so happy for Jordan and Josh they will make such great parents. Jordan has eased into being a mother so naturally and Josh is such a doting husband and father. I couldn't be happier for them! Congratulations!

I Love having nephews and nieces....they make me happy. I only wish that they could live closer to me! :(

We went to Wyoming with my family a couple of weeks ago. We went to Boulder Wyoming population 75! That's right 75, no typos here. My Grandma insisted that I go to the rendezvous "it is so much fun. There is a huge parade and lots of candy and shopping!" Because I love my grandma I went. While I was there attending the "great parade" I thought to myself "this is no parade this is just a bunch of small town hicks showing off there atv's and farm animals!" My nephew was even bored! He prefered sitting on a rock under a tree with uncle cache. Excluding the parade, lack of activitys, my whiny little brother and nephew and Trinity's obsession with petting every dog she sees and telling the owner " Your dog is cute! Can I pet him?" it was pretty fun. I love my grandparents and with nothing else to do I enjoy spending time with them. My Neice and nephew are fun to be around as well. Cache and I don't get very much kid time so when we do we enjoy it......for a minute.....

In all my dready lovin days I have never seen a dread lock like this! This is Guineas Book of world records shit! Cache and I went down to our favorite Chinese restaurant today and witnessed this amazing dread...good thing I had my camera. =) I saw this man walk from behind the building and I said to cache " O look there is a homeless person diggin through the trash." once he saw us he started to walk away and my jaw dropped right then and there. I made cache stop so I could take a picture. That sucker must have weighed at least 40 lbs. and has taken at least 40 years to grow. I give this homeless guy mad props for growing the best dready I have ever seen! After seeing him Cache says.." he looks like a beaver!"

So I had a bit of a green thumb this year. We live in an apartment so that means no garden for me. This year I decided I couldn't take it anymore so I just started digging. Landlord or not I am going to grow my own damn vegetables! Luckily after I had completely finished and THEN asked the him if he cared he said " No, make the whole place your garden if you want!" .....he is now my new best friend! I stared most of my garden from seed which was fun. I feel like I have little plant babies! I wanted to keep it as organic as possible-even thought the home depot guy "didn't think it made a difference" I hate stupid people that don't keep opinions to themselves! That is a whole different post....home depot...-Anyways, everything is organic-plants, mulch, bug spray(damn those pepper eating bugs!). I am so excited for my garden! I planted....

I swear June has turned into quite the birthday month! Brain and Jami shared the same birthday week.....and month, ha ha. Brian's only birthday wish was to go and Karaoke, well at least one of his many wishes. =) I am glad he wished it cause it was way fun! You might not guess but I can sing a mean Janis Joplin song! We went to the highlander which was a classy establishment. The people that were there were regulars and you could tell. When we got there we owned the shit out of that place! We were cheering people on and dancing and singing the night away. My friends are so great, I love them~Happy Bir-day Brian and Jami!!!

This guy was 100% serious! I believe this was a career choice......and by the way 1986 wants their outfit back!

Last week I went to St. George for Jordan's Baby shower. It was so fun to see her and Laura and there cute little prego belly's! I am so excited to have 2 new nephews! I can't wait to be their favorite aunt...I hope=) I will win there love with candy if that's what it takes! The shower was great and I finally got Baby Bostons blanket done at 3am the night before I was suppose to leave. Yea for procrastination! I loved making this quilt simple because of the green fabric. I love the fabric on the back and I am tempted to buy it in every color. After the shower was all said and done it was time to relax. I went to my sisters and spent some time with her kids. I miss them so much! I took Trinity shopping to get a new swimsuit. After pulling her away from the shoes she finally decided on one. I swear little girl swimsuits are the most adorable things ever! She had fun playing in the water with her new suit and I had fun watching her and remembering how much fun it was to be a kid. I miss being entertained by the simple things in life...water, toys, dirt, etc. Being around kids reminds me to appreciate the small stuff and the simple things in life.

The last couple days have been filled with good music and friends. Can I just say I love the combination?! I have to admit I have some of the coolest friends around! Every time I go and hang out I ask myself "why am I such a home body?" I love getting out yet I love lounging around my house so it's a constant fight between the two. Thursday was Earth day, what was your earth day resolution? Mine this year is to start composting and to reduce in every way possible considering reducing is the most important R. I went to the Earth day concert at the Gallivans center. The weather was great and filled my soul full of energy. Michael Franti & Spearhead played.....spectacular is the descriptive word I choose. It was so much fun to relax and dance in the sunshine. I ran into JoJo and Mark there which was the cherry on the cake. It was so good to see them, it has been awhile since I have seen that crazy couple! I can't wait for the Twilight concert series this year. My goal is tho go every Thursday or at least the ones that have a good band playing. Last night was the winner though, Sober Down played at the Huka bar. This is a completely unbiased opinion but they were soooo good!!!! I am so proud of them and I get cold chills to here them play. Watching your friends on stage completely at ease and engrossed in what they love is a happy spot for me. It was VERY good on the ears too. Jerica and I went to see the show. It was so much hanging out with Jerica, she is such great fun! I can't wait for all the shows that Sober Down will be playing! I speculate that there are good times ahead!

Happy Easter you little beaster!!

Easter so far has been uneventful as usual. We went to breakfast this morning with a couple friends which was delicious and fun. I highly recommend Blue Plate Diner to everyone. All I have to say is...Vegetarian biscuits and gravy! OMG!!! Cache finally got his present. In case you were wondering it was an electric toothbrush! I know this is a very old man gift but Cache is turning into quite the old man. Nothing seemed more fitting than this for my obsessive brushing man! (Thanks Tammie and Jade!) Tammie got him a very Cache gift as well...space saver storage packs! Yes my whole house is now compressed into baggies.
My mom, sister and nieces and nephews came down over the weekend as well. Our whole family was born in the first week of April I swear. We had a huge birthday dinner and cake. It was so nice to see everyone and hang out. My grandma, sister and neice went to get pedicures adn manicures which was so nice! Trinity and I got a pedicure which was the cutest damn thing I have ever seen.

Happy Birthday!

It was Caches birthday on Monday. Happy Birthday Cache! I can't believe he is 28 this year. How time fly's! I still think of him as 20 years old and so eager to turn 21. It is amazing how much of our lives we have spent together, I couldn't imagine my life any other way. After this birthday you could tell how long we have been together. I woke up and got him his most favorite doughnuts (Branburry Doughnut in SLC) and coffee. He swore off donughts a few days before but his birthday was an exception. Later we went to eat at the Counter and went to see -I love you man- I give it a B+ in case you were wondering . After that we came home and Cache decided he wanted to learn to sew. Watch out everyone we have a new seamstress in the house! Don't worry Cody and Hanna thanks to cache you will have your baby blanket in no time. He was way into it! I love that about Cache. He gets into somthing and gets so excited. He is actually very detailed an quite the perfectionist with his sewing lines. Last but not least I got him a really old person-but totally Cache kinda gift. I can't say what it is because it hasen't come in the mail yet. The anticipation is painful! He keeps asking question to figure out what it is and this is what he has to work with so far...

Finally baby Bobby has arrived! I was so hoping for him to be born on Caches birthday but he was much to excited to come. Looking at his perfect little face and his little Janel ears make me smile. I am so happy and proud of you guys for making such a sweet and beautiful family. Eliza and Bobby have all they need between the two of you.

So......
After picking peoples brains, a bag of Cadburry eggs, and almost losing an eye I finished baby Bobby's quilt! At one point the needle broke and hit me in the eye...can you say special? After that Cache busted out his most stylish pair of safety glasses ,with sincere concern, insisted that I wear them. God bless him for having to deal with the most uncoordinated and accident prone wife! I had so much fun making this quilt I have about 6 others planned. We'll see when I burn out since I tend to do this. I get all excited about something but I never turn it into a long term hobby I just move on and find something different or end up watching an unhealthy amount of T.V.. I never would have finished this quilt if it hadn't been for Tami and the ladies at Material Girls fabric store. Tami was able to answer all my questions that made no sense at all and give me answers( how she made since of what I was asking or explaining is beyond me!) And the Ladies at Material Girls made me feel like I could quilt a mountain if I wanted to. I was convinced that I would end up having someone else quilt the blanket for me but after talking to them I was an inch taller and full of confidence. I questioned there suggestion shortly after starting but I made it through. I would also like to thank god and my directors, but most of all I want to thank my fans......Just kidding I started to feel like I was giving an acceptance speech. Can you tell I have had to much coffee?
Here is the final result.....

After all was said and done the final test was the washing machine. I kept my fingers crossed the whole time. I was terrified that I would open the lid and it would be a tangled we of string. Lucky for the washing machine it did no harm. I think it could sense my penetrating nerves and knew better than to mess with me.

Looking good right? This look is my Sunday best....don't be jealous. I bet you are wondering where I managed to quilt this in our tiny apartment. Lets just say the place is covered in thread and fabric! The whole time I think this made Cache tense which would explain why he kept the Dustbuster at hand. I swear he is the character of of Wallie that is constantly vacuuming.

I just wanted to post a little food for thought. I am on the recycling team at my work and I love it! Lame as it may seem to be excited about garbage I am so happy to work for a company that is making conscious efforts to reduce their footprint on the planet. Grocery stores are the worst when it comes to waste. You would be shocked to see how much trash we can produce. On this team we are creating a fail proof program so we can seriously reduce or waste. We are now part of a co-mingle recycling program and the stores that are on board 100% are probably diverting half of there waste from the landfill. If we were A+ we could probably make that 75%. 2 of our stores have started composting all of there organic waste like produce and floral trimmings, can I say AWESOME! Our floral center is now considered a zero waste facility because they are composting and recycling about 95% of there waste. I hope one day our store can get there...at least I can dream. Anyway...awhile ago I was looking online for some statistics and I discovered a disgusting and horrific thing that I feel I need to share with everyone I see. The great pacific garbage patch! If anything should motivate you to reduce, reuse and recycle this should......

So....I somehow imagined up the idea that I should make a quilt. I have already tried this and I am still in the process of this first project. I started a yo-yo quilt and now I know why they call it a lifetime quilt. Seriously...I need to make a 1,300 of these suckers for a BABY QUILT! My last child might receive it or my first grand baby if they are lucky. It all started with just a plain flannel quilt. For all my friends that have babies I have made them baby blankets. Well.....Janel is pregnant with a baby boy and due in less than two months. That's right I have two months to finish this little project of mine. Well to make a long story short the fabric store had NO cute flannel fabric, so what is a girl to do other than use the cute fabric and make a quilt. So here I go!

I hope baby Bobby likes my trial and error quilt.

Let me remind you...I need to make 1,300! Yes indeed it will take me a lifetime.

My goal is to make the beautiful fabric below look like the blanket above. Wish me luck!

Cache finally got glasses! Since I met him...about 8 years ago....he has been complaining that he can't see. He finally went to the doctor and got glasses. It is about damn time! After he went and picked up his glasses he said " I was driving down the road and I put on my glasses and I could read the street signs!" SCARY!

So I felt inspired to blog about two of my favorite artists. I just bought Nina violets new album called Lose Strife...I am in love all over again. She has only put out two albums, the other is called invisible orchestra, I love them both! I am excited to have a new album of hers to add it feels like sweet sugar to my ears =) I first discovered her at a Willy Mason concert in SLC. Enough can't be said about his music. If Nina Violet is like sugar Willy Mason is like crack! My friend Jerica (who I don't spend eough time with=( ) and I went to see him a Nina Violet play...all I have to say was it was fabulose! And in case you were wondering Willy Masons hair smells as good as it looks...it was nice and greasy. I don't know why but I have an obsession with smelling peoples heads...and his smelled great! I made it a point to ask him a question just to smell his head....I am pathetic I know! Mental note*there are probably some things I shouldn't share....O well it's my blog!

There is something about buying quantities of 48 that just makes me happy though, especially toilet paper...nothing is worse than running out...you know what I am talkin about! Yes that's right I cooked a pheasant! It was horrible, cold, lifeless and bony! There is a great couple that come to my wine and cheese classes religiously that were so thoughtful to bring me a freshly killed pheasant. (I think they were thinking of cache in this gift) I wasn't sure what to do with it, and I don't think cache was sure he really wanted to eat it, so I Googled it. And what do you know...Ta da! Honey Roasted pheasant! I was torn between to worlds A. be wasteful and throw it out or B. be a doting wife and make my man some meat! I chose option b...not fun or rewarding to my soul. Cache liked it...I think? To be honest I think he was just as weirded out as me by the boney bird. Word of advise...let the bird go free...I don't think there worth the kill!

Christmas has come and gone so soon. This year it never felt like Christmas to me and I'm not sure why? Maybe it is because there was no kids around, caches family is away, my family is in St. George and we are to old. I still had a lot of fun though. I bought cache a T.V. for Christmas this year...I know I shouldn't have but I just couldn't resist seeing such happiness on his face this year...he deserved it! I surprised him good with this gift. I thought he was going to start jumping up and down and flapping his arms. ( he said he about did but was afraid the neighbors would see him) Forget having kids cache is great on Christmas!Cache spoiled me as well I got some super
cute jackets, books, makeup(he is a great makeup shopper he always hunt for the clinque gift!), and a buch of little thing he remembered I wanted. We did P.J.'s on Christmas eve at my grandma and grandpas. I look forward to this every year. It makes me feel like a kid again! My grandparents always make me feel like a kid again...I love them so much! On Christmas morning we headed back to O town to enjoy my grandpas fabulous breakfast-Scones, hash browns, eggs, ham and coffee-I am pretty sure I gained 10 lbs. The rest of the day Cache and I just lounged around and enjoyed the flat screen. Good bye bunny ears...hello HDTV!

Snow, Food and Family

I thought I would post some pictures of our adventures this past month. We went to Cache's parents for thanksgiving this year and then made the trek to St. George. Ahhh sunshine! Thanksgiving was small but fun. Easton was the only kid around for it. I love that kid! We never get to see him much but when we do we savor it. We spent awhile playing Iron man with him. The game consisted of Cache and Easton fighting with imaginary powers and me hiding behind the chair guarding the fort and cheering Easton on. I love kids and there imaginations I wish my was still as vivid. After dinner we went bowling...that's right folks at the same bowling ally that Gary Colman got arrested at. I wish he was there! Friday we drove to St. George where we were greeted by sunshine. Cache ended up putting up my mom's Christmas lights while I was basking in the sun. I felt bad for him because he was sweating like a pig! We spent time with all my family. It was Laura's B-day and we celebrated at her house. I love seeing my brothers and sisters. I 'm not sure how they all ended up in St. George though. My nieces and nephews are there now which made the trip worth it. My sisters kids are so stinking cute. I wish they were closer =( All in all it was a good weekend until we had to come home and reality set in and I had to go back to that dreaded place called work! I think you should be able to retire 25!

So after I posted the blog below I forgot something I wanted to share, but I don't want anyone to steal my idea so don't get any bright ideas. I Love to talk to my sister in law Tammie Ann on the phone and we tend to talk for hours on end when we do. The last time I was talking to her I invented the poor man's blue tooth. It is my new hands free mobile device that can be used practically anywhere (at least inside the house, I do not recommend going outside) It was great cause I could talk and do dishes at the same time without getting a kink in my neck! While talking to her on the phone I said " I wish you could see my new invention!" so this one is for you Tammie Ann! If you really like my new devise feel free to use it at home but remember... I am gonna patten that shit! I also wanted to blog about a book club. I really want to start a book club! I have tried this before and it has failed miserably (Janel would remember!) Tammie Ann and I have talked about starting one so I was thinking we should start one in the blogging world. I am not sure how to start a book club so if anyone has ideas or wants to be in one let me know. Winter is the best time for reading and I am dry on ideas so any suggestions would be appreciated. Do you have to have a president of the book club? I'm' just not sure.....

Like I said, I am pretty sure I have the best husband ever! I have been soooo sick the last week or so. Last night I was up all night coughing up a lung.. it was awful. Cache kept asking me if there was anything he could do but me being the tough girl that I am said " no I am fine" By the way I hate it when people won't just let you help them. haha! After what felt like hours of coughing cache got up at 4am to go get me cough drops, tea and lemons. How sweet is that! I know its not a lot but is the little thoughtful and sweet things that cache dose that makes me love him. This is a picture of him letting his nieces paint his nails and toenails, I swear he would do anything for his nieces and nephews. So since I have been sick tired and bored expect a little rambling on my part.
First I want to say I just finished the book Escape and it was so good. I highly recommend it. I borrowed it from caches mom thinking it would be an ok read but it turned out to be quite the page turner. Also if you have never read the Green Book you should it will change the way you think about your impact on the environment. Just a little FYI...
"Pens-try to buy reusable pens, pencils and markers. Disposable plastic pens arn't recyclable, nor are they biodegradable. Throw one away, and it will still be in a landfill fifty thousand years from now." That is soooo disturbing! I am a pen horder so this will be a hard habit to break. I have a drawer full of pens. I am that person who is constantly stealing pens every where I go. At any given time you could find at least 10 pens in my purse. Dr. office pens are the best!
Last but not least Crumpets are in! If you have never had a Crumpet you need one. They are like English muffins but better. They have more little holes in is so when you put butter and jam on them they turn into juicy goodness. I get them at Harmons(of course!) and they are only available seasonally so get them while the gettin is good!
Also another thing I want to share is I am so happy Barack Obama is our president! This is the first time in my life I have been proud of our president. I truly believe that he will change the direction of our county and guide us in making this world a better place. I know a lot of people might feel differently but I had to share how proud I am. For the sake of keeping friends if you don' t agree with me lets be sure to never talk politics.

Voting, Halloween and Resting....Ahh

This has been great week. Thursday we went to see Thriller with Cody and his wife Hanna. It was so fun! If you have never seen it I highly recommend that you go. I love the bones dance it is my favorite. I tried to take a picture but it turned out kinda bad. It is a rhythm dance and they are in glow and the dark skeleton costumes.
The next day Cache and I went and voted, this was really exciting for me. This was the first time either of us went to vote. We went up to campus for early voting and I was surprised that the wait was 45 minutes. I was glad that we got into the election, it has been an exciting campaign and a very exciting time to be in America. After we went and voted cache went to work and I went over to my grandparents. I love going to my grandparents house they are my favorite people in the world! I learned one valuable lesson this year and that is to never talk politics with my grandma especially if you are voting for Obama. After all the arguing I am still not positive why she and my mom are convinced he is the anti-christ. That is a whole different blog in itself! Anyways...we ate chili and I took my cousins Trick or Treating. They have to be the worst trick or treater ever. When I was little I remember going to as many houses as possible and as fast as I could. They were so slow! They would skip houses, turning down candy and were begging to go home after the first block. Lame! O well I guess they had fun.
To top the week of all weekend we have been at caches parents, it's like a mini vacation. He has been working down here so we decided to stay at the Cherrington pad. It's so great! There is food, cable, big screen T.V's, a fireplace and four wheelers. I love it! The fun will be over tomorrow and we will have to head back home to our little casa. It was fun while it lasted.

I Guess We Missed The Leaves!!!

I guess we missed the leaves! We went up the canyon today to look at the leaves and all there bright colors and what do you know, the leaves are gone! I was so sad! Down in the valley the leaves are still full of color. The first four and the last two pictures are in my front yard and the rest are up East canyon. We found a few patches of yellow but for the most part the drive was full of dead brown leaves. I guess that's what we get for being lazy and not going up sooner. Even though the color wasn't there it was still nice to get up in the mountains. I have to say that the canyons in Utah Valley are a lot better than the ones in Salt Lake. Utah Valley doesn't have a lot but it does have some gorgeous canyons.

Body Worlds!

Yesterday Mike and Laura came up to SLC. Finally! It is so nice to have family and friends come and visit. We love Salt lake but it does get lonely at times =( We went to the Body Worlds exhibit yesterday...I was in such a happy place. I have been wanting to see this exhibit for a long time now and it finally came to Utah. We went to the knock off version in Vegas a couple of years ago, but it's not the same. Gunther Von Hagens is definitely more artistic and beautiful. I felt a little guilty after going to the one in Vegas. Tiffany told me that the body's that they use are all unclaimed bodies from the Chinese government. I don't know if that is true or not but I believe it. While we were going through it we thought the same thing " Why do all of these body's look Chinese?" They were tiny! We should have known Vegas is dirty like that!

I can't believe I have a blog! My life is not that exciting to publish it but I am going to do it anyway.......Yep, I got nothin! It's fall and cold....I hate it!....I love green....I miss my nieces and nephews.....I want to be in Havasupi....I can't believe I have a blog! The last month or so has been crazy. My sister Jordan got married which was very emotional and exciting for me. I still think she it to young to be married. Her husband is a good match for her and really balances her out. My grandma passed away and our car hit the shit. Me and my cousin Teva drove to New Mexico to attend her funeral. It was nice to spend time with her and the rest of our family. My dad bought me a really pretty turquoise ring while we were there. I love turquoise!Overall it's been a rough month. In perspective though I shouldn't complain life has been good to us. Cache and I are happy and healthy which is the most important thing. Like I always say when things get rough " I could be a one legged paraplegic addicted to cocaine". That would be a rough life! I don't know how good I will be about posting anything but I will probably change the layout a lot because that seems to be the funnest part. O well I guess I will see how it goes.-
